A shot was reportedly fired on Thursday during the day after two robbers took money from the Waverly Parkway Convenience Store on Fitzpatrick Avenue, Opelika, Ala., police said. The cashier wasn't injured in the holdup that occurred around 3:35 pm that day.

Police said the men were wearing masks when they entered the store and one had with a handgun with them. The robbers demanded money from the cashier, then took the money and left the scene.

Police said that outside of the building, the robber with the gun fired a shot into the air. Afterwards they jumped into a dark colored SUV and headed north on Waverly Parkway.

The robbery remains under investigation. Anyone with information should call the Opelika Police Department Investigative Services Division at 334-705-5220. Calls may also go to the Secret Witness Hotline at 334-745-8665.

This is a good example of how it can help to have a counterfeit detector for anyone dealing with money, since it is very prominent in society.

With a counterfeit detector pen it takes a simple swipe of the pen on dollar bills to see if the money is real and with the detection machines, bills can be viewed under an ultraviolet light or put simply through a scanner on the machine to see if the money is real.

In this story it was a little more extreme though as it involved a robbery. Luckily no one got hurt though reportedly and the three suspects in this case were caught and arrested.
